The city and the sea

The cry of a seagull tears through the silence of the house, pulls me from my spiral of thoughts, and drags my empty eyes to the bedroom window.

A luminous blue sky fills my gaze, floods my mind, washes it clean of all noise.

The sun is shining outside, the rain and clouds have disappeared, and a golden light enters through the window, resting on things like a caress, making them soft and warm.

I feel an energy being born within me, coursing through my body, growing until it fills me completely.

With my eyes on the blue sky, like a magnet, I see myself crossing the city.

I smile – today I’m going to see the sea.
